It is also important to choose a company that uses CSA approved lights which are approved for use in Canada as not all companies are using these lights which can pose a fire hazard. CSA is the label that states the lights have been approved and tested for use in Canada.

Be Aware as seen on this page, there are different types of fixtures. Some décor companies, DJ services and individuals will purchase flood lights from the hardware store to keep their costs down. You might believe that you are getting a quality light from them when in fact you are getting a flood light. These are not approved lights for indoor use as they become very hot and offer no protection to your guests. If they are bumped or knocked over, they can cause a burn or lead to a fire.

LED Pars all look the same but are very different. Similar to an incandescent bulb in that you can be holding a 60 watt or a 150 watt bulb and they look the same, with LEDs you can have a 1 watt, 3 watt, 5 watt or even higher power LED and not see a difference in the fixture’s shape or size. The difference would be in the intensity of the light, number of LEDs in the fixture and the range of colors. As seen in these photos and video, the combined expertise of everyone at Quality Entertainment was drawn upon to create an amazing evening for the ladies who came out to celebrate the launch of the Ottawa Firefighters Calendar. From the video projectors and screens suspended along the walls to the dynamic special effect lights that were rigged to the ceiling, the Quality Entertainment Major Event Production Team was busy on this night.

We truly showcased the incredible talent of the Quality Entertainment lighting designers as were brought in to highlight one of the most prestigious events of the Ottawa Tulip Festival. The major fundraiser known as The International Shoes and Champagne benefit showcased the talent of dozens of top international designers who came together in this gallery presentation of their fashion creations to help Soles4Souls provide footwear to needy families around the world at this charity event in Canada’s National Capital.

Our job was to provide lighting to showcase the shoes in various theme rooms and to provide sound and video in certain areas where there was a story to tell about the shoes and the event. We accomplished our goals by utilizing the latest LED light fixtures, projection and sound."][/simple_tooltip]

Lighting for Inside the Tent

Too often we see couples book tents but not give any thought to the inside lighting when it comes time for dinner or to dance. They assume the lighting that the tent company provides will be suitable for the entire wedding when it fact it’s only overhead lighting installed to brighten up the entire tent. These are usually bright halogen lights as seen in the photo, all on or all off. This results in a fully lit or completely dark tent.

You might assume the disc jockey will come with some lights but they are generally for the dance floor area, which leaves your guests sitting all night long at their tables in the dark. The disc jockey lights are also not bright enough to replace the very powerful lights which were spread out in various areas by the tent company so don’t count on them being a good replacement.

Dance Floor

We’ve seen it a few times where couples don’t book a dance floor assuming the grass will be fine. Stage

Translucent Podium

When it’s time for speeches, you will need a podium. Without one, your family and friends will not have a place to lay their notes down resulting in the person speaking having to hold their notes in their hands and awkwardly turn the pages in front of everyone. If there is no microphone stand, the person speaking will have to hold the notes and turn the pages — that’s a lot to do.
